In 2013, a group of local Kensington parents identified a need for opportunities for netball, given the popularity of netball for girls in Australia and the absence of a netball club in the surrounding area. With the support of Netball Victoria and Kensington Primary School, a NetSetGO program was established in 2013, and in 2014 we fielded our first team in the Parkville Saturday Juniors competition, playing at the State Netball Hockey Centre (now known as Parkville Stadium) on Saturday mornings. In 2017 we became part of the Kensington Flemington Junior Sports Club.

In 2022, our first foundation players graduated from the club, having started as 7 and 8 year olds, and grown out of 17 & Under. They now play in the Open competition!

In 2023, KJNC is supporting 28 teams at every level from Net (6-7 years old) up to 17 & Under, has several players playing representative netball, and is participating in three leagues: Parkville, Merri-bek, and Essendon District.
