About Kensington Colts
Community Basketball for Melbourne’s Inner West
The Kensington Colts are a volunteer-run junior basketball club providing fun, inclusive basketball opportunities for boys and girls aged 6 to 20.
Today, we’re proud to be one of Melbourne’s largest junior basketball clubs, with more than 80 teams and over 700 players participating across our Summer and Winter competitions.
Our Story
The basketball arm of the Kensington Flemington Junior Sports Club was established in 2010 with just one team playing out of MSAC.
Since then, we’ve grown into a thriving community club, providing basketball opportunities for hundreds of local children and families each season.
While we’ve grown significantly, our focus has remained the same: creating a welcoming environment where every player can enjoy the game, develop their skills and be part of a team.
Our Mission
Our goal is simple: to create a positive basketball experience where every player feels welcome, develops confidence and enjoys being part of a team.
We believe basketball is about more than just the scoreboard. It’s about building friendships, learning teamwork, developing resilience and creating lifelong memories.
Powered by Volunteers
The Colts are proudly run by a dedicated team of volunteer coaches, team managers and committee members.
Their passion and generosity make everything we do possible, from coaching and mentoring young players to organising teams, events and competitions.
Without our volunteers, there would be no Colts.
Part of the Community
The Kensington Colts are part of the Kensington Flemington Junior Sports Club, a community sporting organisation that has been supporting local junior sport for generations.
We proudly compete in the Westgate Basketball Association and Altona Basketball Association, providing opportunities for players across all junior age groups.
